Meet Miss Behavior

โœจ The Backstory

I was a kid that played with Rainbow Brite in the 80's and who enjoyed some raving in the 90's.ย  A dear friend drew me into the music, the energy, and taught me the PLURR culture: Peace, Love, Unity, Respect, and Responsibility.ย  Back then, raving was just something fun to do on a free weekend.ย  I didn't know the infinite layers of this subculture would down the road finally offer me a way of life with real human connection and tangible healing.ย

As I attended college, served in the military, and worked relentlessly to build a career and a family, I forgot how to be happy.ย  I didn't even remember what it felt like at one point.ย

I had blinked and decades had passed.ย  Suddenly everything fell apart at once: a pending adoption collapsed and I lost the child I had volunteered to love, my marriage of 17 years imploded, and my workplace turned toxic. I felt like I was spinning, lost, and the struggle left me helpless.

I knew I was on life support and hanging by a thread.ย  So I did something for myself: I bought a ticket to an Illenium concert.ย  That night changed everything.

As the music poured over my soul and the crowd heaved away pains similar to mine, I remembered something I'd forgottenโ€”how music can soothe, energize, and rebuild a broken spirit.ย  I started cracking open, felt rebirth, and started to fully breathe in life again.ย  I started raving again, realizing that every EDM show and festival I explored flirted with me, promising another step toward something real.

Of course, a voice in my head tried to shame me:

โ€œYouโ€™re too old for this nonsense.โ€
โ€œWhat will people think?ย  You're acting like a college kid.โ€
โ€œYouโ€™re misbehaving.โ€

But this time, I talked back. And I answered:

"If reconnecting with joy, finding healing through dance, rebuilding my confidence, and surrounding myself with the PLURR community is considered "misbehavior"โ€”then Iโ€™ll proudly wear the title."

Thatโ€™s how Miss Behavior was born.

Sure, you can call me Dee. But if you catch me at a rave or a festivalโ€”glowing, dancing, beaming with life and putting the world back in the proper orderโ€”Iโ€™ll tell you with a sly grin that โ€œI go by Miss Behavior here.โ€
